Colin Milburn is Assistant Professor of English and a member of the Program Committee for Science & Technology Studies. His research focuses on the cultural relations between science, technology, and media. He is especially interested in the international history of science fiction and its development across a variety of media forms: film, literature, comic books, and video games. He regularly teaches courses such as "Science Fiction,""Cyberpunk and Cyberculture," and "Inventing the Posthuman" that examine therole of science-fiction film and literature in conditioning the social reception of cutting-edge technosciences. He also has extensive expertise in the history of horror films, splatter movies, and grindhouse cinema.
