Every year I teach an undergraduate course on Spanish film (Spa 148). Taught in Spanish with a limited enrollment of 40 students, the class is always full. Every two years I offer a graduate seminar in Spanish film and national identity. The content varies from year to year.

My research on film focuses on three main areas:

  1. The representation of immigration in Spanish film
  2. Spanish social cinema
  3. Film and literature

I am also involved in a project financed by the Spanish Ministry of Culture entitled "Images of Immigration: Film, Photography, Painting and Literature." The project is "housed" at the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid.
