Production Stills from Repeat
These Production Stills are from Repeat, a film directed by UCD Film Studies major, Daniel Leighton, Lost Productions, 2007. Shot entirely in Davis and Sacramento, Repeat is an independent film created by a diverse bunch of young artists. Self-funded and tireless, each member of this talented group (consisting mainly of college undergraduates) has invested countless hours of their free time in the production. See http://www.myspace.com/Repeat07 for more information!

We asked Leighton what he enjoyed about the Film Studies major at UCDavis, and he responded:
"The Film Studies program at UC Davis is great because it offers a range of courses on national cinemas and approaches to critical study of film. I found that I could readily grasp the diversity of film aesthetics, and the truly innovative aspects of film form, by studying comparatively, across national boundaries. Having the opportunity to take courses in American, French, German, Japanese, and Latin American cinemas, among others, I learnt to understand how and why they differ from one another.
The film theorist in me enjoyed studying how a country's social-economic makeup, modes of distribution, cultural history, and other factors, inform the films produced in different societies.
And the filmmaker in me found that studying the similarities and differences in form across national boundaries strengthened, and expanded, the scope of my own film productions.
Majoring in Film Studies at UCD offers you specialists in these different cinemas and cultures so you can be assured of a well-rounded, expertly informed and unique education."
